There are car service companies on stand-by at the airport. There are also yellow airport taxis and white (regular) taxis.
Arriving passengers will be approached by car service attendants and drivers offering transportation services. Guards may also ask if you need a car.
Approximate costs for a one-way trip from Mactan International Airport to Cebu City (and vice versa) are as follows:
- Taxi (white) – 188 to 260 pesos [metered]
- Taxi (yellow) / Airport Taxis – 360-520 pesos [metered]
- Car Services / Vehicle-for-Hire / Rent-a-Car – 500 to 650 pesos
- Minivan – 625 to 910 pesos
- Vans – 1000 to 1300+
Cars and taxis can accommodate up to 4 people, depending on the amount of luggage. Minivans generally can sit up to 6 comfortably, again depending on the amount of luggage. Up to 12 can fit in a van. Luggage may or may not allow the maximum number of passengers.

How to Find the White Regular Taxis
- When you get out of the domestic arrivals terminal, turn right and walk about 30 meters. You will see stairs (going up) on the other side of the driveway. Cross the driveway, climb the stairs. Hello, white taxis.
- From the international arrivals terminal, it is similar – only you’ll have to walk about 100 meters to get to the stairs.
- To be safe (and not get lost), please ask for directions from the information desk or a guard.
Very Late at Night or Very Early in the Morning: During late evening or around/after midnight, we recommend the yellow airport taxis and car services. The white taxis are usually only cheaper during the day or regular hours. During very late hours or very early hours, the white taxis may end up costing more.
I want to hire a car, not a rent a car — Over here, Rent-a-Car is synonymous with Vehicle-for-Hire. When you avail of a car service at the airport, you will be renting both the car and the driver.

You will have to negotiate with the car company at the airport. Vans are usually around 1000 pesos for airport to Cebu City proper, but after midnight – the price may be higher by 50% to 100%
I’m arriving around midnight on Mar 11 and staying at the LaGuardia- does your company only rent cars or do you have a transportation service I can use?

This is just an information page about car services at the airport. There are always car services available at the airport. Cebu locals also use them even if they have cars and drivers.

There are always taxis at the airport, even very early in the morning. Even though the white taxis are usually the cheapest, we do not recommend them for trips very late at night or very early in the morning. At 1am, airport to Cebu City usually cost around 300 pesos by yellow airport taxi.

I called the airport (http://www.mactan-cebuairport.com.ph/contact.php). According to the person who answered my call, the yellow taxis are only for airport-to-destination trips, and he suggested one of the rent-a-car companies instead (http://www.mactan-cebuairport.com.ph/car_rentals.php).

There are taxis at the airport at 5am. White and yellow taxis. Since it’s still quite early, we recommend the yellow taxis at that time.
Cost is from 300-400 pesos for the yellow taxis, but please make allowance for 400-500 pesos because of the extra-high gasoline prices caused by the Middle East protests. Plus, (some) white taxi drivers have also upgraded to a higher rate.
I want to go to San Regimo. It is northern Cebu Island. I would like to hire a van and driver. Can you reccomend anyone. I will be arriving around 7:00am on Cebu Pacific from Taiwan on July 4th. I appreciate any leads.

Do you mean that we have to go to the Domestic Airport and then from there do the similar walk? How to go to the Domestic Airport from the International airport? Please advise. Thanks

1) We have seen some Mactan Airport stores open at 5am. We do not know about 4am. It’s best to bring your own food.

I usually just purchase from the supermarket. Most supermarkets in Cebu City sell mangoes.
hello there, we will be arriving on Oct.30, 2011 midnight. what if yellow taxi is asking for more than 400php, am i advisable to complain just incase. Are these taxis safe. we will be arriving midnight i cant help thinking of our safety.
The yellow taxis are metered. The yellow taxi drivers wouldn’t (shouldn’t) ask for the (entire) fare upfront.
The car services that charge a flat rate are the car rental companies.
Unfortunately, gas prices are still unstable so you’ll still have to add 20-30% to the rates I provided (above). Yellow Taxis would cost from 360 to 520 pesos.
The yellow taxis are ran by the airport, and it is generally assumed that yellow taxi drivers have been screened by the airport.

Cebu Grand Hotel is located in Cebu City (proper). Yellow Taxis may cost from 360 to 520 pesos. This is a generous estimate. It may cost lower since there is no traffic at 2am.

Yes, Yellow Taxis are metered. They should still be metered even at 2am. During very late or very early hours, the white taxi drivers start asking for flat rates, which is why using the yellow taxis is recommended during unusual hours.

White taxis are the regular taxis you find all over the place around here. The yellow taxis are exclusively for the airport.
You will find white taxis at Gaisano Mactan. I’m not familiar with Ace Pensionne. I am assuming it is near Gaisano Mactan? In any case, hotels and pension houses around here are usually happy to call a taxi for you. If you are leaving the pension very early in the morning, please inform the staff beforehand.
If Ace Pensionne is located in Mactan, please allow 30-40 minutes travel time from downtown Cebu City.

We have to recommend that you pay in Philippine Peso so you don’t have to contend with the fluctuating currency exchange rate. Also, the taxi driver most probably cannot give you change in USD.
I would like to ask how much is rate from Mactan International Airport to Radisson Blu? How many minutes is the travel time? Is it safe to take a white taxi?

Radisson Blu is right next to SM Cebu. In the usual traffic, it would take about 30-40 minutes.
The white taxis are the usual/regular taxis you see around here. The white taxis you see waiting at the airport had just dropped off people from Cebu City (and other areas).
